We are going to try something that we tried last year that went over very well. This will be done at all four majors this year starting with Wyncote DVGC Master’s event. We are going to run a “Majors Challenge” where you can bet on yourself and a pro playing partner. Here is how it works: If you are interested in entering the contest you will need to tell the person at Check-in table Saturday morning. At that time, you will place your bet and then pull a name out of a hat. The names are made up of those pros that made the cut and are playing the weekend. Once you have a playing partner, you will then take your net score for our DVGC event on Saturday and combine it with your “tour pro’s” gross score from Sunday to see if you won. The team with the lowest combined score will win 60% of the pot. Second and third place will pay out at 25% and 15%, respectively. Any ties will be broken by your own DVGC net score, and then match of cards if necessary. The cost to enter is $10 and like our birdie pool and closest to the pin, all the money put into the contest gets paid out. So, if this sounds like fun to you, stop by the ATM before coming to the course, tell the person at the check in table you are in, pick your partner, and then cheer them on Sunday afternoon. We will post the results Monday morning on the front page of DVGC website. See you all at Wyncote.

Extra Extra read all about it DVGC defeated Juniata 21 1/2 to 18 1/2 at their second annual Ryder Cup event. Juniata brought a great team and we want to thank them for coming out and giving us such a fun competition. We also want to say a special thank you to the entire DVGC Ryder Cup team for making the DVGC statistics 8 to 0 in eight years of holding this event DVGC has never lost the trophy, thank you for keeping it again this year. We had so much fun with all of the DVGC members and Juniata members, and we can't wait to see who makes the teams next year. Hope it is as good as the team was this year!
